چکیده
For a two-phase (liquid-gas) two-component (water-hydrogen) system we discuss the formulation of the possible dissolution of hydrogen in the liquid phase. The problem is formulated as a set of nonlinear partial differential equations with complementary constraints and we show how Henry’s law fits in a phase diagram. On montre comment la loi de Henry entre dans un diagramme de phase. Le problème est alors formulé comme un ensemble d’équations aux dérivées partielles non-linéaires avec des contraintes de comp[lémentarité. متن کاملDisappearance of the gas-liquid phase transition for highly charged colloids.
We calculate the full phase diagram of spherical charged colloidal particles using Monte Carlo free energy calculations. The system is described using the primitive model, consisting of explicit hard-sphere colloids and point counterions in a uniform dielectric continuum. We show that the gas-liquid critical point becomes metastable with respect to a gas-solid phase separation at colloid charge...
متن کاملFactors Governing Dry Deposition of Gases to Surface Water
Rates of dry deposition of gases to surface water vary by orders of magnitude depending on the concentration of the gas in the surface water and on the solubility and aqueous-phase reaction kinetics of the depositing gas. For nonreactive gases the key property is the Henry's law solubility. For reactive gases the deposition flux can be quantitatively related to the chemical reaction rate for kn...
متن کاملApplying a Modified Two-Fluid Model to Numerical Simulation of Two-Phase Flow in the Membrane Chlor-Alkali Cells
In this study, gas evolution in a vertical electrochemical cell is investigated numerically with a modified two-fluid model. The mathematical model involves solution of separate transport equation for the gas and liquid phases with an allowance to inter-phase transfer of mass and momentum. The governing equations are discreted via the finite volume technique and then are solved by ...

The Henry's Law coefficient is a key physical parameter in the partitioning, and hence environmental fate, of a chemical species between air and water. Despite the acknowledged polluting potential of phenol, 2-methylphenol (o-cresol) and 2nitrophenol, there is extremely poor agreement in the literature of their Henry's law coefficients and, in particular, no apparent systematic measurement of t...
